Is splitting up messages by 25 posts too much? or too little?
what do you all think would be an ideal # of posts before going to a new page?

I think 25 posts per page is ok, although it would be better to split to 20 or even less. It would certainly help all those who are on dialup (myself included).

20 sounds reasonable to me.

This will be an option settable in the Member Control Panel in version 2.0 so each user can set it to their own desire.

Not much of an issue, but if I had to choose, It'd be 25 posts per page - not a big deal though. Can't wait for the Member Control Panel.
Now, how about switching back from blue to gray?

Actually, at Anandtech Forums, I've set the number of posts per page to 60
If there's one thing I hate about forums, is being forced to read further on another page. And in case you're wondering, 20 or 60 posts a page doesn't make much difference for me with loading times.www.nyanko.ws - My web-, software- and game development company.

Even though I'm on a slow connection compared to most of you (56k) I prefer more posts on a page rather than less - the current setting of 25 has been fine for me. Although 20 would be OK too, especially seeing as the number is customisable in vB 2.

I think either would really be fine. I'm on 56K dial-up and I think either 20 or 25 is reasonable. I definately wouldn't go below 20 though.

25 is good. I'm on DSL so, it doesn't make much difference with load times. Don't go below 20 though.
