Any fine editer for php files?

It seems Frontpage can not handle php files as normal html files. Do you have any editer that suits for editing php files?

If you're trying to edit a page on your site which was made with PHP. You should save it to your computer and then open it in IE. Click on the Edit Icon which should open Front Page and then you should be able to edit it.
It worked for me on my site http://www.jumpondeals.com which is made with PHP.

I personally use TextPad to edit PHP files, and sometimes use AceHTML. You have to download an addon for textpad to do the colorcoding, but AceHTML comes with it built in.

Both make great editors.

I'm using Edit+ to edit PHP files. You can get it at http://www.download.com

BTW there's no WYSIWYG PHP editor. I'd suggest you don't use any WYSIWYG editors to edit PHP files, but edit them by hand.
This way, you'll save yourself loads of problems.

Hmm...Basically, you could even use notepad! But I suggest TextPad..

If you ever use forntpage...its possible..
first, right-click on the file from within forntpage then edit or open with..can't really remember ( i unintsalled it =) ) then you select frontpage editor.

One note though, make sure you specified that frontpage doesn't touch the code at all...or modify it. yup

A good, free PHP editor to use comes from Michael Pham of Denmark - check out MPS PHP editor (completely free too). No frills, no fuss. Just good, clean editing.

Only complaint I have is no page wrapping as of yet.

No, you don't need to download addon for TextPad to enable syntax highlighting for PHP. All you need to do is to select Configure -> New Document Class and choose PHP as a syntax definition file.

I also use EditPlus. It works great. You can download all the various extension formats so that you get colour coding...

I use it for .cgi .pl .php .asp .whatever..
