    Pop-up blockers

In a recent SitePoint Newletter The prevalence of pop-up blockers was pointed out. I have several sites that use pop-ups as part of the navigation. Does anyone know if these blockers block pop-ups that require you to click in order to view? My co-worker is telling me that his Google blocker let's him see that type of pop-up. Any info would be helpful.

Most pop-up blockers allow windows that were initiated by a user action (i.e. clicking on a link). They typically block the onload and onunload pop-ups, which 99% of the time are only used for advertising. However, there are some exceptions like the pop-up blocker software that Earthlink gives to its subscribers that blocks everything including user-initiated pop-ups. You should be okay with your current method in most cases, but I recommend trying to do what you can to get it all in one window, for pop-up blocker and accessibility/text browser/mobile browser reasons.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know.
