    CSS Vertical Link problem

    I'm using the example here : http://www.domedia.org/oveklykken/cs...over-image.php which was discussed in another thread here and can't seem to come to a solution for what I'm trying to do. I'm simply trying to ad a space between the images. Like some padding above and below 1 or 2 pixels. I've tried padding, and I got the border to work, but it leaves the purple ring about it, which I of course don't want around the image.

    Any ideas?

    Code:
    .cssnav	{
    position:relative;
    font-family: arial, verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;
    background-image: url(roll/over.gif);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    display: block;
    width: 125px;
    height: 25px;
    margin: 0;
    margin-bottom:0px;
    padding: 0;
    }
    .cssnav a {
    display:block;
    font-size: 11px;
    width: 125px;
    height: 25px;
    display: block;
    float: left;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    color: black; text-decoration: none;
    }
    .cssnav img {width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0; }
    * html a:hover {visibility:visible}
    .cssnav a:hover img{visibility:hidden}
    .cssnav span {
    	position:absolute;
    	left:5px;
    	top:3px;
    	margin:0;
    	cursor: hand;
    }

    Ok, closest I got is by making this:
    Code:
    .cssnav img {width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0; }
    to this:
    Code:
    .cssnav img {width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 2px; border-color:#A7B0BD; }
    but it kills the roll over and I can't figure out how line up the background image with the new placement..
