Is it best to get into a habit of using Relative and absolute?

I often never use these two attributes. For today's webpages and the future's, is it best to get into a habit of assigning a relative or absolute attribute to most of a page's elements?

I rarely use relative positioning, but have found myself use absolute once in awhile. I don't conform to absolute positioning because often on other browsers *cough* Mozilla *cough* the positioning is flawed. I'm not sure why one would ever need to use absolute or relative, unless you're doing a highly graphical site where tables are just to inconvienant to use.
