I want to include the file: http://www.johnhiblerweather.com/include.txt on this page: http://www.goatweb.com/news/test.shtml.

I've got <!--#include virtual="http://www.johnhiblerweather.com/include.txt" --> on the test page, but I am getting a "error occurred while processing this directive" message on the page.

The first site is a weatherman site. He would like to let other sites include his weekly forecast without having a lot of major updating on anyone's part. I though that if he could upload the forecast he already does into a text file, other sites could just add the include line to their page. In theory it sounds good anyway!

Any ideas to get this to work?

SSI INCLUDEs are for your local server. You can't include from someone elses server (at least I've never seen it done).

    :-(

If that is the case, can you think of an easy way to do what I am trying to accomplish? Ideally, I'd like to be able to give a webmaster a piece of code that they can put on their page to have updated local weather info from the weather site right on their page. I know they can link to the forecast page, but that isn't what we are trying to do.

Am I chasing the impossible dream??

I'd have to play around with it more but just a ball park idea:

If you put the full url to the text file in your html page won't that pull in the text file when the page is viewed?

I realized after I put this here that the scripting forum would probably be more appropriate. I'll move the question over there :-)
