Question How to design "flexible" text area surrounded by images?

    Hi,

I've come up with a design template for a restaurant I'm designing for.

It's the first design I've ever used that uses a text or content area surrounded completely by images.

My problem is that I cannot figure out how to make the content area "flexible" so that the images around it enlongate as more text or content is added.

Is this possible? What is the secret? Is there a tutorial somewhere that deals with this issue? I know I've seen this done somehow.

I'm including an image to show what I'm talking about.
Thanks for any tips or advice you can offer.

    Easy as Pi.

For a beginners level: Take your graphics program, and look for its "Slice" tool. Cut the images up as needed. For the repeating images, make them backgrounds of the table cells they are in instead of real images.

Advanced Level: As above, except the (X)HTML will be written by you, optimised for your site. Probably using CSS layout.
