Multiple versions of IE on one box

In case you don't know someone's found a clever way of running IE 5, 5.5 and 6 on one box. A wee article about it is here:

    http://www.insert-title.com/web_desi...s/dev/multi_IE

or you can just grab the files you need here (probably won't be up for long I reckon):

    http://www.skyzyx.com/archives/000094.php

All appears to work well enough, although I've certainly not tested them very much. Unfortunately it seems at least one valid box model hack fails as the browser still thinks it's IE 6. Still beats running through to the other room to use the old computer every 5 minutes.

Why didn't anyone (Microsoft!) release this sooner?

I have 4, 5, and 6 running at work. Never use 4 and rarely use 5 though.

You have to use the IE4 DLLs, but the copy of IExplore.exe that comes with the IE6 preview edition I believe. It's been a while since I did it so I can't be sure; I'll see if I can find out exactly again..

Vinnie, how exactly did you do that, if you recall?
Love it? Hate it? Helpful? Useless?

    We are not worthy!!

This guy has put together zip files of all IE's from 3 up that will all run on the same box. I'm running 4, 5 and 5.5 now. IE4 works fine 'cept you have to use CTRL O, rather than the address bar to go to a site.

There's a little weirdness with IE5 too if I'm not mistaken.
