    popuptraffic?

    hey guys, i just signed up for popuptraffic, everythign looked great, except my stats

    my previous advertiser, focusin said i have about 1500 impressions per 24 hours. i switched to popuptraffic, and it counted 200 pops in 36 hours! that is horribly low. any help on either:

    a very good popup/under co. with 2-5 buck cpm
    or whats wrong with popuptraffic

    thanks. hope i can get a few things resolved :S

    kylecl,

    PopUpTraffic uses a 12 hour IP count and we do not count traffic from a number of e-commerce unproductive nations as specifically mentioned in the programs terms.

    As you are posting anonymously I'm unable to look at your account or code placement. If you send me a message and identify yourself I'll check your account and do my best to assist you.

    FastClick does not have popups but they have a lot of good paying popunders. Also they have never been late paying.

    yeah, my site won't be accepted. unfortunately.

    i have read a few topics here, and i'm sure there are plenty of these types of topics, but: im looking for large cpm, as i only want one popup, it's a tvshow site, so fastclick, google ads even, wont accept it. but yeah ii wanted something like popuptraffic with great cpm not many strings attached and just one popup/under. thanks.

    edit: im also pretty desperate, i've been looking for "thee" advertiser for a few days now, almost nonstop, i thought SI was like my big break, but so far...it's not working out, so if you've had any successes or reviews of companies with large cpm for pops, please reply

    Kylecl,

    I just replied to your PM. Your netting $2.14 CPM with us on dead raw server calls. That's not too bad.

    it's not as bad as i thought, i have 1.43 and 357 popups in the stats, what are dead server calls? and where does 2.14 come from :P

    also, the one popup i got (have cookie) didn't load, but a gator thing popped up :@ and the pop never loaded, it's still a neusanse to the visitor, and i'm not getting paid.

    A dead server call means your site made an initial contact with our ad server calling for a pop window.

    It does not mean the window loaded, or was viewed, or was from the USA or anything else. It just means a contact was made.

    As I told you in the PM: "Your account shows 666 server calls, 414 of them were unique in a 12 hr. period and from an acceptable nation, and 356 were fully loaded and not blocked.

    It works out to a $2.14 CPM for dead raw server calls"

    LMK if there is anything else I can help you with. Good luck with your site.

    ook, my only problems then is, the horribly slow popup load times, no one in their right mind would sit and wait 25 seconds for a popup too load, most people immediately close anyway =\ is it just me? i will however, try SI a bit longer

    One other network you may want to try is popupsponsor. I don't know if they are accepting new publishers, but they have worked pretty well for me in the past. Their CPM is $3 for single-pop, $5 for multi-pop (not recommended). This is lower than what PayPopup is paying this month, but I have found that they end up counting a higher percentage of my traffic, so may be worth a shot.

    I have a detailed review of them (and other pop networks) on my WEBster site (see sig)

    i checked your webster site earlier thought it was great :P that's why i signed up at paypopup. would you reccomend them?

    edit: ok right now i can't decide

    popuptraffic

    or

    paypopup

    i have no idea of paypopups cpm but it's looks like it counts more impressions, what would you guys say, and you levik, either company i'd want one popup set too 12 hours.

    PopupTraffic is probably better for you if you wish to run single-pop. PayPopUp pays $1.4 CPM for US-based traffic, while PUT pays $4 this month at least. Even if the 2x undercounting you mentioned were true, you'd still be making more with PUT. If you read my review, you would know that where PayPopUp is nice is that they pay for non-unique impressions, so if you wanted to show multiple pops, they would be good.

    On some of my pages I have "chained popups" showing every 2 or 3 page views. I show Fastclick first, then PopupSponsor, then PUT, then paypopup.

    but i saw this in another post about poputraffic

    You are right, they also severely undercount impressions. I did a test a year or so ago. I placed the 12 hour cookie on a page that gets a consistent number of views per day to see how many impressions were counted. After 24 hours, I put another pop on the page with a 12 hour cookie from a different company. The second company counted 3x the impressions that PUT did. I have actually noticed this is the case for all of SI's programs - severe undercounting.

    In a nutshell, I would not recommend them unless you're totally desperate and cannot get into any other network.
    that's bad =\and i noticed it in a few hours. does paypopup.com miscount to? because they look ok.

    Kylecl,

    That garbage was posted by "Lil Red" who has an axe to grind because we will not accept her valueless traffic.

    Because someone with their own private agenda uses a web forum to promote their nonsence does not make it the truth.

    That being cleared, I visited your site yesterday and the pop loaded immediately. We are serving close to 24 million pops daily and I assure you that they are loading normally and quickly. It's possible you had some type of local bandwith issue.

    Is a dime really worth it? You'd be better off using targeted CPA banners than annoying your visitors for a dime.

    One thing you can try is setting two cookies : the 12 hour popuptraffic cookie, and a 6 hour generic popup cookie. Then show the user a pop every 6 hours - PopUpTraffic if they haven't seen it in the last 12, or something else (for example popuptraffic's exit pop) if they have.

    This way you have the chance to make double revenue from people that come back a lot, yet still maintain the impression of one pop per session.

    um, how would i do that?

    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!-- 12 hours
    if (document.cookie.indexOf("popuptrafficpopup") == -1) {
    var expdate = new Date((new Date()).getTime() + 43200000);
    document.cookie="popuptrafficpopup=general; expires=" + expdate.toGMTString() + "; path=/;";
    document.write("<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=\"JavaScript\" src=\"http://www.popuptraffic.com/assign.php?l=USERID\"></script>");
    }
    //-->
    </script>

    that's my current code.

    ok i changed my script too:

    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!-- 12 hours
    if (document.cookie.indexOf("popuptrafficpopup") == -1) {
    var expdate = new Date((new Date()).getTime() + 28800000);
    document.cookie="popuptrafficpopup=general; expires=" + expdate.toGMTString() + "; path=/;";
    document.write("<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=\"JavaScript\" src=\"http://www.popuptraffic.com/assign.php?l=kylegatz\"></script>");
    }
    //-->
    </script>

    set at 8 hours, that won't corrupt it will it.

    You'll want to set it for 12 hours. You only get paid for one pop per unique IP per 12 hours. At 8 hours, your visitors will get pops you won't be paid for.

    Yeah i got the same problem, only a small percentage of my uniques are counted

    It wasn't worth it, so I removed them.

    yeah it's set at 8 hours, like levik said, well he said 6 and i probably didn't do what he was thinking, but then theres a better chance of getting unfuly loaded pops.

    also, would popunders be better, like money wise? i know they make less, but in the end would they be counted more or something?

    In my experience I have found too that they undercount impressions.
