    Hi,
Yesterday I got a new modem, I got a 56K because my old one was 33.6K, but I'm not sure if I can notice much difference yet.
I also got a new free scroll mouse with it but the plug on the mouse is a round one and old my old mouse the plug connecting to the computer is a rectangular Pin Plug. Why is that?

what you have there is a ps/2 mouse which is kinda standard if however you want to use your old port then you can get a converter thing to plug your mouse into.

Speed of the internet also depends on how good your phone line is and your ISP so depending on these you may not notice much diffrince. I didn't

Yes, it definitely sounds like you need a convertor! If you buy a machine nowadays though you will get that type as the old seriel mouse is no longer compatible with current motherboards.

oh yeah and I think i would be right in saying your old mouse was a serial mouse that is the type of port it goes into. There are three for a mouse USB,ps/2 and SErial, Real old mouses use Serial newer ones use ps/2 and even newer ones use ps/2 or usb

Ohhh i was right . Nicky got there just before me hehhe BTW I bought a M$ natrual keyboard pro and win2k refused to boot after i put it in and it was because of the web camera and the keyboard didn't play nice together. The keyboard has two usb ports on it so i though i would plug the web camera into the usb port on the keyboard but ohh no win2k didn't like it and refused to boot. Something about the usb ports on the keyboard only take low power items. Trouble is Microsoft forget to tell you this on the packaging and the how to manual. Another reason to Thank bill gates
