Hi,
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can change the style of the 'down arrow' within a select menu using CSS ? I have tried numerous things but can't get it to work.
Thanks

You can't. Dropdowns are usually rendered by the OS not the browser.

It really is a shame though, because if you stylize your form radically then the grey dropdown button and browse button for file inputs can be really jarring.
I usually don't change the colors of form buttons drastically, so it's not a big deal, but I can relate.
Love it? Hate it? Helpful? Useless?

I agree. However, you also have some operating systems/browsers that don't take styling of any form controls too well, and just stick to the default OS style most of the time (Apple's Safari browser comes to mind).Originally Posted by ucahg
