Guys need a look, one time deal

Hi, I only have about 30 minutes.. so..

I know there is a site review section and if I wasn't under any pressure, I would post this in there, but I really just need a few of you to look at this and tell me if it appears I have been quite creative in the making of it and whether or not it looks good. Its a picture, about 80kb. Its part of my interview process and its due tommorow, but I want to make sure to get it in early, and I can't think of anything else to do with it, so please, could you just take a couple looks, and let me know your thoughts. I don't need a critique, just some feedback.

    Thank you so much

    Bryan

Please give this thread at least 30-45 minutes before closing it, I won't care after that much time.

It looks fine to me, if anything, I would say that the text "site search" and those circles are a little hard on the eyes. They seem to close to the bg color. Maybe make them the same color as "excellence" in the logo. If thats the same color or stil not dark enough maybe use the color from news or intro.
    Good Luck!

    And the difference is?

Anyway, I like it. A lot.

If I were to offer any negative feedback, it's that I'm not such a fan of subdued colours, especially lots of autumn tones like you have on this design.

Also the company name gets a little lost with the floating boxes around it.

However these are pretty minor. I'd be pushing very hard to come up with anything that's close to this.

I dunno, I kinda like the free flowing boxes around the header, gives it a....well I dont know what to say about it besides that I dont think it would look as good without them around there.

Just found your design services site, not too hard to find though. ;-) You certainly do like to use cubes dont you?

I think they look cool. Just that if they're not part of the logo/branding then they subtract a little from it, if you know what I mean. Maybe if they were a lighter colour or something.

Anyway this is all very subjective and reminds me why I like programming much more than design

those floating boxes are actually part of the logo. This is the site the redesign is for
    http://www.webexc.com

During my interview, they said, go home, and be creative and use your imagination to make a new homepage for our site, so that is what I came up with compared to their original site.

If they like my design over 4 other people, I should get the job that is what this is for, this isn't a client services issue, this was for a job interview.

Yeah I do see what you mean. Maybe takeing the bordered cube below the logo out and making the dark cube and outline would make it look a bit better so that "the logo wouldnt get lost."

Should that be "Shaping the way people do business" or "Shaping the way people think business"?

Also, if the boxes are part of the logo do you think it's a good idea to change them like you have?

I do like this design - I'm just being picky

well, they told me, ALL GOES, they said, just be creative in your site.

In the end, it probably has nothing to do with changing their site, they just want to see what type of imagination we have and what we can offer, I bet that is what it is. They just used their site as the project example

Hmm... In that being the case with the cubes being the logo I say leave them the way they are except maybe taking into consideration what I said, dropping the frame box under logo and making the big one a frame. See how it looks atleast.
