    Replacement for DIR?

    Hi,

I came across the <dir> tag somewhere, and noticed it worked pretty well. I tried it, and it turns out that it's not XHTML 1.1 Strict compliant!

What's the replacement? Is it a manual div text-indent: 20px; - and does that even indent the whole block or not?

    Thanks for your feedback!

    Regards,
    Someonewhois

Use <ul></ul> instead. Does the same thing as <dir> and it's XHTML 1.1 compliant.

nope, every browser i've come across indents any type of list. You can get around it with CSS though I believe, if that's what you are trying to achieve....

You could set margin-left: 20px; in the CSS for the paragraph you want to format in this way
