Page jerk due to scroll bar questions

Hello,

I've designed a few sites. Stretchy type left hand adjusted never an issue. I started a new one 800p aligned center and am noticing that in any browser other than IE, when the scrollbar isn't there, the page jerks to center without the scroll bar. So with the scroll bar there, it is in one place and on short pages with no scroll bar it jerks to align itself center.
I tried searching but I didn't know what to call the issue. Clicking between pages looks terrible though.

Would someone mind posting what code I could use to fix this issue. Or what I can do to fix the scrollbar jerk issue in browsers such as Mozilla and firebird.

I'd be inclined to just not worry about it, but if you REALLY want scrollbars on the side all the time, you can use some CSS:

body {
  margin-bottom: 1500px; /*or some other absurd number*/
}

Thank you. That is certainly one way to do it. I gave it a shot and it works fine. I changed the 1500px to 150 though and that was enough to do it.
