A WYSIWYG program to edit your pages such as Dreamweaver (www.macromedia.com)
You could also invest in shopping cart software. (www.amazon.com)

There can be a lot of costs relating to starting an ecommerce store.

    These are just a few:

    -- Security
    -- Payment Processing
-- Ecommerce System (for product display; can be very complicated)
    -- Domain
-- Hosting (can get complicated -- multiple servers, database servers, server security, etc.)
-- Any custom AI programming desired

The list goes on and on, but is very much dependent on what you're looking for. Amazon will cost you half a billion, but you can sell one product through PayPal for practically nothing.

Let us know what you're going for and we'll help you figure out what you need.

I'm going for a DVD/content site. Supplying reviews for dvds at the same time selling it. Also offer community forums. I was planning on branching out to music, and video games too.,

It's still going to depend on the size of the site, payment methods you plan to accept, etc. If you have to deal with everything on your side (warehousing, payment processing, shipping, etc.) you're going to need a very advanced sysem and millions of dollars, most likely.

If you're reselling that may all be taken care of for you.
