    Where's your inspiration

Where do most of you designers get your inspiration from?

When a new project gets thrown onto your lap and you have to start from scratch, how long on avg does it take from the project on your lap to a physical idea being formed on your computer?

Or more simply, where do you get your inspiration?

    Thanks
    Bryan

I usually start with the logo. If there is one, I can work with the color scheme and general feel and see where it takes me. If I have to design the logo as well, I start by talking to the client and see what kind of things they like or dislike, colors, themes etc. Then I take it to photoshop and just start playing around. Once I have an idea for the logo that the client likes, I take it from there with the page design.

If it's a client, through talking to them and seeing what they had in mind.

If it's my own project, or if the client left it completely up to me, I usually work off of an existing logo, or scribble layout ideas on a pad of paper until I find something that would work.
