I use javascript for something other than navigation

if you have wmp and IE or NS http://www.unitingrhythms.co.uk/drums/rhythms.html
Layout is being changed but it should still work.
works best with Windows Media Player as it's the most responsive media player.

JS can also be used for shopping carts.
check www.balindi.com my first payed work, it uses javascript to replace the top.location with a frameset then puts the shopping cart and current page into seperate frames, so it wont affect their search engine index. The top frame will then add up the stock, and show results in the main frame.

the borders are also created with javascript, if you have a fast comp check www.maxfire.net , nice moving borders but it takes up alot of CPU usage.
LiveScript: Putting the "Live" Back into JavaScript
if live output_as_javascript else output_as_html end if

Dude, are you sure you looked at these sites?

For Mishoo's site, look under projects. He's got a calendar, a menu bar, and some other effects. Plus, he wrote HTMLArea 3

On youngpup's site, check the "snippets" section -- most of those are JS. Plus, his entire UI is all JS driven.

cross-browser.com is ALL about javascript. It's libraries abstract tons of processes for all different browsers. Mike Foster, the creator, is a member here.

WebFX is offline, apparently, but they have tons of DHTML craziness.

DHTMLKitchen all javascript as well. I mean, DHTML is just a buzzword for script-powered HTML.

BrainJar has two sections with tons of javascript goodness, check the "JavaScript" and "DHTML" options on the menu.
