    Question What is the DOM?

Okay ... so I've been reading a lot of Jeffery Zeldman daily reports, his book, Eric Meyer and his book, looking at CSS designs and more and I still for the life of me can't wrap my brain around what the DOM is!

I've looked for tutorials and what have you but have found nothing that seems to make any sense to me.

Can anyone here give me a good explination?

The DOM is the Document Object Model. Basically, it's a programming model designed to help you traverse the elements in an HTML or XML document. Think of it as a standard way for scripts to access and manipulate information in your Web pages. When you're writing some Javascript, you're usually using the DOM to manipulate stuff for you and you probably don't even realize it.

    Hmmmm ... still fuzzy ...

Would you happen to know of any good articles that explain what it is and how it works?

I don't know what the heck my problem is with this one ...
