Anyone ever worked for a webdesign agency in the US?

I have been attempting at finding work for a webdesign agency near my hometown. I was curious if anyone has worked for one in the United States and if so, what was your experience or your current experience?

Also, what type of money do most web designers make at an agency.

This is not a freelance question.

    Thanks

    Bryan

i've never worked for a US agency - in fact, i've never been to the US!, but i can't see why it would be any different to an agency elsewhere.

I worked for a creative agency (web & graphic design), and overall it was great experience. we worked hard at making a creative environment, and made a point of collaborating with each other on projects.

But this is just one agency.. and every one is different. my advice: get some interviews and have a good look around the places when you're there.

I work for a Digital Media Group (which is basically a design agency). The money is decent and you get to meet a lot of interesting people who design really well (I program ). All in all, great environment but not the greatest market right now.

yea i know, alot of jobs I hear are going to India.

    Thanks for the responses.

When you said money is decent, what is decent for your standards, if you don't mind me asking.

For me, $30,000 would be pretty darn decent

That really depends on your education/experience. http://salary.monster.com/ is a good place to see how you measure up in your area though .

Thanks, I checked it out. That would be really nice if that really is what the pay is in my area. Wouldn't hurt my feelings as a 22 yr old
