    I am having trouble configing php to send mail using the mail function under win32. Here is the extract from php.ini

    [mail function]
    SMTP = 216.116.7.202 ;for win32 only
    sendmail_from = me@cmptr.com ;for win32 only
    ;sendmail_path = ;for unix only, may supply arguments as well (default is sendmail -t)

    Is this right ?? I am getting a can't connect error.

    That certainly looks right. Could the server have been down when you tried it (it's up now -- I checked)? Are you sure you're editing the copy of php.ini in your Windows directory?

Just like to add that your Tutorials on sitepoint have helped me greatly and have made me really start to get into web dev and php much more. Thanks

    Any time you make a change to your php.ini, you need to restart your Web server for changes to take effect.

    Glad you liked my article!

    Well I though this as well but there was about 4 people on IRC in a php help channel that all firmly said no and 2 of them were ops so I wasn't going to disagree.
