I haven't done much work on the net lately, recently however I was offered a job in updating and maintaining a website. My employer does not know much about this and told me to come up with a price... now I know that the work will be minimal, but how much do webmasters usually charge per hour? I am guessing I will be updating the site once a week or so, maybe taking me about 10 mins or so each week... So shall I just go for a weekly/monthly wage? If so, how much do you think is reasonable?
Thanks guys...
P.S. I'm hoping this is the right forum for this post... if not, which is? Beginner one?
And then if the website does well for him, charge more. A good website can expand the business 100 fold. So, think big and then charge big after you prove it to him.
take hourly rate (lets say $X/hr ) and charge in 15 minute increments ($X/4 per 15 minutes). Or you could have a monthly maintenance contract where you provide a certain amount of hours each month at a reduced price but they dont get money back if they dont use it. lets say the contract is for 5 hours, so 5 times X/2 = 2 1/2 X/ month, then if they go over go back to the $X/4 per 15 minutes thing.
heh its harder to understand when you hafta use Xs
