a sent email w/o my virtual hosts server name

Is there a way to get around the mail () PHP function so that I can put a senders email address. Right now, it will always come up with www@server6000.net (which is my hosting company)

Basically, like a "refer a friend to this site" type thing. When the person receives the email, it would have the REFERERS email on it...

Try this:

  $str_to =  "reciepient@something.com";
  $str_subject =  "Subject";
  $str_message =  "Your message here";
  $str_header =  "From: referer@email.com";
  
  mail($str_to,$str_subject,$str_message,$str_header);
