1 pixel borders...use in moderation?
Hey,
I am an entry level web designer, and have learned that 1 pixel borders are a nice addition to some websites. But for some they are used entirely too much.
But, my question is. Is there a such thing as over doing a small element such as the on pixel border? Cause I believe is makes a webpae look neat and concise. Beveling, the same thing goes.

There is no such thing as over doing it for something as small as that. Overdoing it would be something like aqua buttons on 1/4 of every website that you see. Something as small detailed as borders is actually what makes alot of websites look good. For example, take a look at sitepoint, the pixelborders around the messages. Imagine take those away...
Pixel borders are very common, but they aren't overused, are white backrounds overused? Do side navigations get overused? There are alot of things that can be overused, but when you are talking basic design elements like this, the answer is no.

If it's a user stylesheet, add "border-collapse: collapse;" for a less jarring effect.
