Body margins at 0 is a best practice?

    Hello:

Recently I read a designer's comments that reccomended,

"With rare exceptions, keep your body margins at ?0?. It's another mark of professionalism."

I was wondering if this is true? Of course, it may be an opnion issue, but is this a popular opinion?

    Thanks,
    worksdev

Who says it isn't professional? I personally set mine to zero simply because that's the way I like them, but I wouldn't say they were unprofessional if they are there.

Here are just some sites that don't have their body margins set to 0:

    msn.com (bottom set to 7)
    ebay.com (no margins set)
    amazon.com (no margins set)
    google.com (no margins set)
cnn.com (specifically set NOT to be 0)

I would think these sites are professional, wouldn't you?

Well, I think the real reason anyone says this is because they think you are a better designer if you know the HTML or CSS to set the margins to 0. Of course, thats utter nonsense.

    Generally speaking, that's always true!
