The last one was easy actually if you think about it. The square root of 520,000 is somewhere between 700 and 800.

Yeah, that was easy, but that's not what they were asking for. The wording tripped me up on that one and another question. I've been out of school too long!

    Vgarcia, about Pythagorean Theorm...

    It indeed is: a^2 + b^2 = c^2
but you misworded the explination (or I misinterpreted )
You take the 2 sides that aren't the hypoteneuse, and square both of them. You add the 2 numbers that you get after squaring them and add the 2 numbers you got after squaring. Then you get the square root of the SUM. The answer is not the square root of the hypoteneuse, but it's the hypoteneuse^2.

Am I making any sense or am I just not following your post properly?

    Regards,
    Someonewhois

    P.S. 10/10

same here. I just couldn't remember how to do it. I haven't done any math other than calculating tax and tips since I dropped out of engineering.....not bad though. I was surprised that I could answer any of the questions at all. I would've thought I'd forgotten all that stuff.

    I got 10 out of 10.

The image in question 9 does not appear, so I had to completely guess that one. I guessed C, and luck had it I was correct.

By the way, I checked in Internet Explorer and the image in question 9 appears fine, and yes I would have got it right if I'd seen it. Checked again in Mozilla/Firebird and the image in question 9 was still broken.

10/10, but I teach this stuff every day. I know that if someone makes a mistake, it's likely a careless error. For example what we call "answering the wrong question."

That was fun. Thanks for the link!

Heh - don't mind me, just being cynical I am very good with logic and that kind of thing, pure maths type stuff I hate (btw, those questions were easy, but still - if anyone here has studied maths at university, it's nasty stuff... )
