do you know of a shoppping cart w/ these features...

I am using miva merchant, and haven't been able to upgrade to the compiled version because one of the most important modules I use has not been upgraded yet. He says he hopes to have it done in a few months, but my store is getting busier and miva is taking up all of the server resources.

The question is.... do I wait (plus I'll have to pay for a miva upgrade), or is there something else that will meet my needs? Here are the 2 things I MUST have....

1) Ability to automatically deliver downloads.. My current system creates a download directory for each customer and creates symbolic links to the files they need to download. The username and password is the same as their store account username and password.

2) Vendor Manager -- I am using the module from vikingcoders that notifies the vendor when their product is purchased, AND it keeps track of those items, the payout amount, etc. I process the payout and it creates and invoice.

Any ideas?

I bought x-cart gold about a month ago.. It's taking me a month to set it up and do the design on it.. and learning it all takes up time.

I don't use the pro, and have never tried it out..

Check out: http://www.vpasp.com/virtprog/vpasptechnical.htm it might have everything that you need. It does offer quite a bit. Building a system similar to what you desire but it won't be ready for a couple of months.

That looks like a good cart! It's in asp though.. most hosting providers don't have asp installed

If you are wanting PHP, you might check out www.oscommerce.com - since it is open source, they have a lot of mods that can be added to customize it.

LiteCommerce does not have support for downloadable goods.

I have looked into oscommerce, but I have not found any modules that do what I need.

Also, I need a robust solution. I run into problems with software not being able to support the traffic that I have. I have a linux dedicated server, so I can't use asp.

oscommerce does not have the features I need, though. I found a module called "download controller" that would possibly satisfy my first requirement, but for the other, I see several requests for something similar, but no module yet.

I think I will just have to wait and upgrade miva.
