    Happy Festivus to all!

Have any of you encountered the banner ads which, when served, are automatically launching daughter windows. We've found them on sites mostly served by Engage/Flycast. We find these pop-ups incredibly intrusive and annoying, but I'd like to hear some other opinions, and also effective rates, if anyone out there has them.

Additionally, in general, if you have used pop-up windows before for marketing purposes, have you found them effective?

    Thank you,

    Loren Baker

If I found this happening with ads on my site, I'd remove the ad code immediately. Unless they've gotten specific permission to do it, then they're taking an awful risk and making an annoying intrusion into the experience my visitors have at my site.

Yeah, I've noticed that the culprits have been Half.com, Grab.com, and some site that sells ducks.

But the real culprits are Flycast. I talked to some people at Burst and they said they ran them for a while, butthen pulled them because of all of the responses.

We've thought about it for some clients, and I encourage any web masters to sound off!!

    Hopefully we'll get some responses.
