In terms of databses, what does scalability mean?

I'm no database expert, but scalability refers to the ability to increase the volume and activity of a database without changing the core design or software. Poor intial design and limited database software would keep a database from being scalable.
Site Point Forms is a good example of scalibility. This site handles more and more traffic each month while still relying on its core design.Westmich
