    IE problem with input tag?

I am working on a general form and I must be doing something wrong as I have never noticed this before.

    I have a page:
    http://localhost/main_site/researchf...ractBasics.php

In it there is a textbox and for some reason IE6 seems to be forcing space at the end of the textbox. The window should shrink just fine, but with this extra space forced, it will not shrink so that the edge of the right border will come close to the end of the text box.

It seems the larger I set the size variable on that textbox the more space IE forces. I do no have this problem at all in Firebird. Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Off Topic:

Just so you know, the localhost merely points to 127.0.0.1, which always points to the local machine. So, if I click on your link, it will try to find that file on a webserver on my machine, not yours. You'll need to find your IP address and give that instead of localhost. Better still is to upload your file to the web, so that we don't have to depend on your server being running, or your IP address remaining static.

oops! sorry, forgot to change the link. I work on my files local and then push them to the server with cvs.

Not that it will help you much, but i cannot reproduce your problem here. I am using IE6 with the latest patches. The table with the nested textbox is resizing fine and there is no blank between the two when the browser window is small enough. It looks exactly the same as in Firebird/Mozilla.

I assume you mean the input box does not stretch the whole width of the table cell and stays a fixed width.

The reason it may happen is because you gave it a fixed value of 75 pixels try using percentages. It would have also been preferable to give the <td> elements widths.
