    Best way for adding/stripping links?

Its been a while since iv done my php, i still have to the code to make url's into hyperlinks and same as emails. When you go to edit that post and such, what would be the best php functions to run to have that stuff done easily? Like to strip out the html when going to modify, but still show the link itself. But no html in it.

    Thanks

Do you know if it will keep the links name? just remove the <a and such around it?

    It will.

    eg.
    Take <a href="http://somesite.com">http://www.somesite.com</a>, it will remove the <a href="http://somesite.com"> and </a> and leave http://www.somesite.com.
