    Another Option instead of Image Spacing?

    Hello everyone,

    I have been experiencing a problem with my site. As many may know, IE has this wonderful problem of not always showing images when someone goes to a website. Now, I know that this is IE's problem, and not my site's problem... HOWEVER, visitors to the site think it's my site's problem, thus it has become a problem for me.

    If you visit my site, and look at the code, you'll see a lot of:
    Code:
    <img src="<A href="http://www.finheaven.com/images/blind.gif">
    http://www.finheaven.com/images/blind.gif" border="0" alt="" width="10">
    I want to find someway to replace this with CSS, but not sure how. I attempted to do this in the styles:

    Code:
    .outer {
    height: 10px;
    width: 10px;
    }
    And then, replace the images with the following:

    Code:
    <div class="outer"></div>
    But, that didn't work.

    So, if anyone has any other ideas... please let me know.

    Thank you for your time and energy...

    Sincerely,
    Andrew Tatum

    One of the wonderfull things about CSS is that you don't need these damn spacer gifs anymore. Not at all... Chuck 'm out the door and save bandwidth!!!

    I suggest you try using padding and margins instead. An hour or two spend at the CSS section of w3schools ought to clarify things somewhat:

    Zoef,

    I owe you a HUGE thanks man! For one, that solved my problem... but I then searched around some more and found some great techniques. Long story short, replacing a few image placers with some CSS cut the site down from 55829 bytes to 51915! That's about 3920 bytes saved! Perhaps I'm just getting overly excited, but saving bandwidth and download time is ALWAYS a good thing!

    Thanks again for the wonderful site man...

    Sincerely,
    Andrew Tatum

    That's always how the transition to CSS starts .
