Generally you won't find serious advertisers bidding for impressions from an eBay auction. I've seen the auctions you talk about though...
"3 Million Page Impressions of Your Banner"
Most start the bidding low and get a lot of small bids and others - like the one at http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1202797273 start the bidding high ($1,000 for 200,000 page impressions) and get no bids.
As of this posting there was 9 hours left on an eBay auction for 50,000 page impressions ( http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...item=528236418 ). The current bid is less than $5. Would you really want to auction off 50,000 page impressions for only $5?
Now, on the other hand, if you are a Webmaster searching for tons of page impressions at a low price...

i did it about a year ago. i think the most i sold was 10,000 impressions for $25. i did that a few times, but it took too much time putting the auction up, contacting the winner, receiving payment, getting their banner, and so on.
in summary i don't do it anymore because it wasn't worth my time.
