    forum login box

    I want to create a login box on my homepage which links to the forum

    so instead of going to my forum and logging on there you just fill in a login box on the homepage and click login and be taking to the forum

    I use phpbb

    is it very complicated and is anyone willing to do it for free

    my homepage is http://www.the-ultimate-website.com/index1.html (it was a big site so I made another site with only text you make the selection on /index.htm

    my forum is located at http://www.the-ultimate-website.com/forums
    or http://forums.the-ultimate-website.com

    if you need more info PM me or post asking for more info

    It's extremly easy.. just copy the existing form from your forum and put it on your home page. Change the path to the login.php to reflect where it is and remove the session id if it's there.

    I just tested it on mine and it works.

    Of course. Once you just copy the form code it's just html. Just copy out the FORM tags and format them how you like.

    All you have to do is post this code anywhere you want them to be able to log in from:

    HTML Code:
    <form method="post" action="http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/login.php">
    Username: <input class="post" type="text" name="username" size="10" /><br>
    Password: <input class="post" type="password" name="password" size="10" maxlength="32" /><br>
    Log me on automatically each visit <input class="text" type="checkbox" name="autologin" /><br>
    <input type="submit" class="mainoption" name="login" value="Log in" />
    </form>
    Just change the URL to the login.php to match your configuration.

    Alright, I must have been putting the wrong action location in or something simple like that.
