    Hey Everyone,

I have a question. First off, let me give you some background info. I have this old computer that I just recently formatted the hard drives on. It had both Windows 95 and Red Hat 6.1 (using LILO). Anyway, I delted all partitions, both DOS and Linux. Now I want to install either Windows 95 or WIndows 98 on the computer. Here's where the problem comes in...

    1) I have a Windows 98 Second Edition CD-ROM. I have it setup in BIOS to boot-up to the CD-ROM. So I stick in the CD-ROM, turn on the computer, the CD loads up asking "Would you like to Install from the Hard Drive or CD-ROM." I select CD-ROM, but then it just hangs there. What's the problem?

    2) I also have a Windows 95 CD-ROM, but when I stick that in it gives me some sort of general error and LILO shows up. What's the problem here?

I just want to get some version of Windows on this computer! Thanks for any help...

    Justin,

Enter a boot disk, and then when it loads, type in:

fdisk /mbr at the A: prompt

Linux creates a VERY small invisable partition that LILO rests on.

After that everything will work again.

::cough:: karma ::cough:: feeling a bit sick..

Thanks Matt! By the way, it was fdisk /mbr, not /fdisk mbr. Thanks...
