I have a relatively new site in which I get a little over 5K hits per month and over 1K uniques. Now, I think that I'm ready to jump into the world of advertising and I was wondering what are some of the best pay per click programs out there? I was looking at WebsiteSponsors, but I never got a response. (I'm sure he's busy with V3.0 coming out soon)Now I'm looking at cj.com and was wondering if they offer a pay per click program or is it just a per lead sale commission? Anyways, I tried to search for a comprehensive list of all PPC programs and I couldn't find one on this site, so I figured why not start one now.
    Any suggestions?

Or with 5K hits a months am I better with a CPM program?

Thanks for the help in advance.
    Steven

    I would recommend WebsiteSponsors!

What do you want to know about them. They currently pay $.17 per click and will pay you.

CJ is also great, but their pay per click is a lot lower. I think the best is $.10. They do have alot of choice and variety, plus many pay per lead programs.

Just post what you want to know and I will do my best to answer your questions.

Thanks for your reply I would just like to know which program is better in the minds of Sitepoint members. Have there been any negative experiences with either company? I like that you can pick your programs with cj.com. Any other suggestions?

I don't know of any negative experiences with either company!

WebsiteSponsors has a minimum payment of $100.

    CJ has one of $25.

Why not sign up for both, it's free. You can evaluate after you sign up. With WebsiteSponsors I have consistently averaged 1-2% click thru rates, while with CJ I receive around .5%.

    It might just be me.

There are not many that will accept a site that has low traffic. Either of these two will do you good.

Actually, I believe the min. payout for websitesponsors is $20, and not $100.

We did change the international minimum payments to $100 but for U.S. and Canada it remains $20 still...so you are probably just getting confused

CJ.com is the best in my opinion. They pay on-time. The min. check is 25.00 USD and they have tons of programs to choose from... pay per click pay per sale pay per sign up....

I believe, properly implemented, a pay-per-lead or pay-per-sale campaign will provide you the best revenue. Plain old banner ads are practically dead.

I agree that CJ is the best, you could choose what exactly match your site and could give potential profit. If you use CPM, it's your pageviews count and not your clicks! If you use CPC programs, what kind of ads will display would affect the CTR!

My suggestion is that you should stick to CPC now. 5K impressions a month will only earn you $10 bucks max, on average. You need probably 1,000 a day to get into the CPM business.

Yes WebsiteSponsors is great, I recommend them !
I have got a daily 0.47 ctr but that's because there ads are not targeted for my website, but they seem to accept RealMedia ads very soon and I think these ads are getting pretty high ctr's so ..

But CJ is good too though.

    Regards,

Is it just me, or does CJ lack CPC merchants? Most of them are per sale or per lead. I'd like to see more CPC ones - and are there any CPM ones?
