About XML

I've read a little about XML and I pretty much understand how it works. But I have one question.

Is XML going to end up taking over HTML or does its future look not that great?

To answer your question, XML will not replace HTML and that was never its intention. It is a language that allows you to build data in such a way that two computers can share it, even if one computer has never seen that data format before.

And to be make your site future-proof, it is recommand that you recode your pages from HTMl to XHTML, which can be use to display normal webpages, and can be modify to XML in the future without too much trouble.

Only thing is, Netscape doesn't like XHTML very much and ignores <br/> and the such like.

Its <br /> there has to be a space before the slash. XML is a powerful language but only the absolute latest browsers support XML. Their support is limited. I think it would be quite a few years before you see a wide use of XML.

Yeah, but the majority of internet userse still use a Mozilla based browser and as from what I know, the user base for Netscape is getting thinner and thinner.
