    Weird validation error

    www.kblaze.com

    Still very much in development, but I am getting a weird error on all pages:

    I/O Error: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.
    ...get this on all pages

    Any ideas how to sort it?

    Quite probably cut and pasted some stuff from topstyle to phpEd, yes....ya reckon that could be the culprit?

    I saved in unix format in phpEd as well - I was wondering if that could be responsible in any way...

    I got validation results for your homepage just fine (didn't pass btw ), but trying to validate the CSS gave me that I/O error. Try just sending your file through http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ by uploading it instead.

    Bugger - I don't understand that error either. It asks for a generic font-family, but I've given one!! (sans-serif).....what gives

    It's been known to happen before.

    That's just a warning. Your CSS is still valid if warnings are there; it's not if errors are though.

    Cheers Vinnie - so it is valid....but I can't put the link in 'cos I'll get that 'orrible warning....which itself is not accurate (as far as I can see) because the generic font-family is there ..... ah well..

    Hi,

    The error is further down the style sheet at this line

    Code:
    #bread{border:1px solid; padding:3px; background-color: #B28C45; color:#000; font:10px bold ;}
    The minimum value for font is size and font-family (which I believe need to come at the end of the shorthand style.)

    e.g.
    Code:
    #bread{border:1px solid; padding:3px; background-color: #B28C45; color:#000; font:bold 10px sans-serif;}
    Hope this helps.

    Paul
