    If I want no padding whats so ever, why can't I get this to work

    I know I post alot of questions, but I cannot, for the life of me, get my tables to contain 0 margins or padding. All the internal stuff of my main table. There is this annoying little 2 px spacing that is appearing and I don't know how to eliminate it. You can view the html at this page.

    http://www.btkdesigns.com/annoying.htm

    the style sheet is http://www.btkdesigns.com/style.htm

    Notice at the top the space between the header and the body.

    Thanks
    Bryan

    If you want your CELLS to contain no padding, then use:
    Code:
    table td {
      padding: 0;
    }
    If you don't want space between your table cells, use this:
    Code:
    table {
      border-collapse: collapse;
    }

    Huh, weird. Doesn't in IE. Nothing to stress about, just annoying Except in firebird and mozilla, the bottom looks like it is a little to wide (underneath the header image)

    Here is another problem. I can't get IE to recognize padding in this situation

    Code:
    <table id="insert">

    					  <tr><td><b>Basket ID</b></td>
    		  <td><b>Basket Name</b></td>
    		<td><b>Action</b></td>
    		</tr><br />
    		<cfoutput query="basketitems">
    		  <tr>
    		  <td>#basketID#</td>
    			 <td>#basketname#</td>
    		  <td><a href="item_edit.cfm?basketID=#basketID#">EDIT</a>
    		  </td>
    		  </tr>
    		  </cfoutput>

    					</table></td>
    			  </tr>
    			</table>
    Then my css

    Code:
    table#insert td {
     font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
     font-size: 12px;
     color: #003366;
     text-decoration: none;
     text-align: center;
     padding-top: 5px;
     padding-bottom: 5px;
     }
    table#insert tr {
     padding-top: 5px;
     padding-bottom: 5px;
     }
    Mozilla and Opera understand it, but I get NECK TO NECK wording when in IE
