Angry I hate DREAMWEAVER, what should i use instead?

I really hate DREAMWEAVER MX, it has great interface, but i usually encounter the ERROR typed like: "Dreamweaver MX has encountered a fatal error and will terminate". WHat should i use instead? I need one that support UNICODE (of course ). Support syntax highlighting (for PHP / HTML / JAVA[script] / CSS / more is recommended)
    THANKS VERY MUCH

If you reinstall Dreamweaver MX while your antivirus program is disabled/uninstalled, it will be much more stable. If you install MX with antivirus programs running you end up with the stability issues you describe. Try reinstalling Dreamweaver with your antivirus disabled, and if you still hate it, then go for another program. No need to throw a US$400 program away you know .

    Thank vgarcia very much
I must say that, i bought DW MX with only... VND10.000 ($1=VND15.000). If i spent $400 to but it, i will... bankrupt, that`s why 98% people in Vietnam use uncopyrighted softwares

UltraEdit is very nice - not a WYSIWYG editor, though.

I just want to note that just because you pay for software or a CD doesn't make it legal. "Uncopyrighted" software is pirated software and is illegal. Pirated software is the reason prices are so high for those of us who pay.

This is not something to be discussed here, but $400 is equal to several months of full-time salaries in some countries. For some people, paying for software is simply not an option, because the prices are not adapted to their markets.

With that said, I think we should stop discussing this, as it's against the guidelines.

Where is this in the guidelines? Pricing discussions are against the guidelines.... but that's a completely different subject.

    You sure about that Beley?

a: "Uncopyrighted" software most certainly is not illegal. Copied software which has copyright vested in it is, but...

b: Some countries simply do not have copyright laws, meaning it is perfectly legal. Are you sure Vietnam isn't one of them?

    Edit:

..and as it turns out it isn't in Vietnam (unless the software originated there - with very good reason)....it is best never to assume or project your own standards and/or laws onto others without checking your facts.

Furthermore, the 97% copied software figure in Vietnam has precisely nothing to do with why "we" who pay pay so much. The retail "value" of software means that 97% of people in Vietnam couldn't even come close to affording it, so the software companies are losing absolutely nothing, ergo it is "costing" us $0.00

dm313, I highly recommend Topstyle from Nick Bradbury. Although I am current using Bluefish.
