    Hi,

I just noticed this but when I use the mail() function, I don't need to tell it where sendmail is or any other mailing program is and it sends it out. How does that work? I mean, does it automatically detect what mail program the server your site is on uses?

    Thanks!

Doesn't mail() use the local mail system? So that the users computer sends the message (like mailto: in HTML)

I assume we are talking about PHP? If so then the path to sendmail is set in a file called php.ini which your host takes care of.

Yeah, I was talking about PHP.

Oh okay, that clears up that question.

    Thanks!
