Javascript error that I can't fathom

Anyone know why this code will give an " expected ')' " error in IE6, but not in Mozilla 1.3 (PC), or for that matter, why it's expecting a ) at all when there's one there?

I have IE6, but it doesn't cause me any problems (nor would I expect it to). How odd.

Actually, funny you should say that, but I'm getting all sorts of strange behaviour out of IE.

Just spotted the problem - wasn't actually in that piece of code at all.

I was writing in a rogue ' by mistake on some lines that shared the same structure.

Surprised that Mozilla didn't through up an error as well though.
