Thread moved from PHP: Tutorials and Resources to PHP main forum.

Perhaps you're talking about a particular CMS, because that sounds like a Nuke variant you're talking about.

I'm mostly working on code upgrades to http://www.coprorecords.co.uk/ as the moment. I was also working on a portable admin control panel application on the side, and an Mp3 database system that would have gone on my house network server if I hadn't fried the BIOS when trying to get an 80-gig HD working....

BY DEATHMELODY313 (ME): I am developing a web site for VietRaider. It is a portal that includes the following modules: Downloads, Forums, Stories, Album, CLevel, Counter,Usercp,usergroupcp,version_manager,character_manager
i think PHPNuke is not a really good one. Also my VietRaider (the 1st web site about Tomb Raider) site requires many extensions. That`s why i am designing amy own one. This is the 1st time i design a major project. In fact, i have programmed only.. 1 project before, but it is shattered because at that time i didn`t finished my php learning
My site`s core is described as following:
    - Supports multi-templates. Just like PHPBB, mega-string are encoded as {text}
    - The module characters manager is used to manage characters (Lara Croft - raider, Von Croy, etc). It can be used to display chara`s profile, his images, his model`s images, etc
    - The module version manager is the same, but it is used to control tomb raider versions (ex. tomb raider the angel of darkness)
    - The other modules are descibed as the module`s name itself.

I`ve finished about 20%. But Since 3/9, the school schedule and English class is keeping me busy.

Been coding www.platinum-central.com the last day or two, decided to re-do some things, it's 90% finished (the search function needs some work, and the image gallery is fubar'd for the moment )

    Self-promotion! Nah just kidding.

<not a review> I like the new look, Gavin! I like the sublimal message in your page title in particular If you want to, you can add a Mozilla banner to your blog (like how I did with mine - not too pleased with the quality of some of the banners though)</not a review>

    platinum,
I have had a look at your site and I must say good work on the design. I just figured that the photo albums don't work. The images aren't shown this is due to having twice "/gallery/" in the url to the images, for example: http://www.platinum-central.com/gall...9-1972_IMG.JPG

Other than that, very nice site.

    ---------

I myself do quite many all-css designs/layouts for companies, friends and people. Also I am currently making a portable CMS, user-communication-system (deliver tasks of a department head to a department member) and a whole new site itself with new db scheme, new content etc. for http://wildfiregames.com, http://wildfiregames.com/0ad, http://wildfiregames.com/tla and http://wildfiregames.com/insurrection

Also I am php coder at http://aom.heavengames.com basically making some forum software with an attachement feature.

If school wouldn't be there I'd be really happy. :/

Would also be cool if everybody includes the amount of time it takes him/her to do a certain thing. For everybody to get an idea of how fast everybody works.

Thanks, yeah that's the least of the gallery's problems, hehe - it does work fine (or at least did) but I decided to tweak the pagination a little and broke it, and am all php'd out for today to fix it

Well, Deluxe Portal 2.0 has been in development since April 2002 I think.

Deluxe Mail since about April this year (but I haven't done very much in a long while with it)

A large part of my day to day job is the design/development/administration of a billings and collections system for our European operations.

The system takes textual reports that are generated each week by the main batch processed accounting system that runs on an Alpha box in the US and enters them into a relational database. It then provides a system of interaction and custom level reporting for billers, finance staff, project managers, and group managers.

The system is based on a MySQL database using InnoDB, with about 1.5 million rows of data (not large, as the majority of the data is renewed weekly rather than added to). The main system is about 60,000 lines of PHP code (as far as I recall).

    Matt.

@Mincer: Sounds like a long-time-project. How much time did you spend coding it ?

Well, development is ongoing as there is a constant stream of requests for feature additions (and bugfixing of course ).

I would guess that total development of the system is currently about 4 months (couldn't say exactly from memory as it's spread over about 30 months).

I'm betting the 60,000 lines of code are not in fact OO ?

Can't think or seen a PHP application with that many lines using OO Design myself... Thinking off the top of my head though the PHP Photo Gallery available over at sourceforge is pretty large ?

It's perfectly possible to write project well in excess of 60000 lines of code even when using OOP.

I know But I was really asking if the said project above at 60,000 lines was OO or not ?

I'm betting the 60,000 lines of code are not in fact OO ?
In regards to PHP very few projects reach this size, though it is more common with Java for example rather than PHP no ?

    Umm...
