Distributing huge data for processing to normal computers, could process faster than IBM's fastest computer (which costs $110million)
The idea is neat! Anyone is using it?

I just got it the other day...I have about 150 hours of CPU time I think. I don't always have it on because it takes so much RAM and CPU cycles but it's usually on.
How about start a SitePoint group?

Those numbers won't increase much until version 3.01 comes out, though, since when I've 2.0.4 running, the sound goes all squeeky. It probably interferes somehow with the drivers of my soundcardwww.nyanko.ws - My web-, software- and game development company.

I had some minor problems with it crashing into Delphi 5... although I guess that's kind of expectable. Other than that, it ran smoothly and stayed out of harm's way.

I have it setup as my screen saver and I have a button on my keyboard that runs it when pressed. I have it like this (on my work PC) so that before I walk away form my PC i put it on and have the password option turned on.
That way nobody is able to use my PC while i'm away form it
So far i've 31 data units completed and 1003 hrs computer time used.

I used to run it and it took about 12 hours to do a unti of data. I can't remember how many I got done. I run distributed.net now as it only uses free CPU cycles and is multi-threaded so it uses both CPUs.

I have never been a fan of "distributed computing" schemes. I think my computer already does too much work anyway ;o)
Perhaps if I could fix my old 8086 up with SETI@home, I could do my little bit for the projectBecause, afterall, it the thought that counts, right?
