text-editing tool - please read reqs

    Hey,

Before you all start telling me your tales of which is your favorite editor (a tired debate, to say the least), please look at what I'm looking for.

I need a text-editing tooll that has the following requirements:

    - non-registry application. IOW, it cannot be installed into the Windows registry. I am on an NT machine that is locked down so only administrative users can install software. So anything with an installshield or msi installer is right out. I was able to install Mozilla Firebird because it does not install into the registry.

    - PHP syntax highlighting. Otherwise I'd use Wordpad.

Bells and whistles aside from that are nice, but those things are reqs. Anyone using anything like this?

Context gave me an illegal CPU code. Terminate? window. lol

The thing I never liked about EditPad is it's syntax highlighting for PHP. It's very bland. I tried the other highlight set, but it's just as bland. Oh well, no biggie.

    > LDAB #$0E
load in accumualtor B the hex value 0x0E

    > STAB $103B
store the value of accumlator B to memory address 0x103B

    > STAB 0,X
store the value of accumulator B to the memory address founded in register X

I took those instructions, part of it, from a piece of sw used to program an internal memory ( eeprom ).

THe 68hc11 is a microcontroller of motorola, I used it a lot in 1990-6.
    It was very famous.
My company still use it for some old projects.

Another world yes, but it was like to go back with the years when I saw it mentioned in syntax highlight.

Hmmm - Textpad doesn't install anything in the registry (in my experience anyway - I just copy the executables etc and run it). It may originally ship with an installer though.
