I can't seem to get sessions working in PHP 4 at all. I created a file with just the following code:
<?php session_start(); ?>
Warning: open(/tmp\sess_dc06d9a6f52045b8304bcc66e3f0932d, O_RDWR) failed: m (2) in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\bb\test1.php on line 3
Warning: open(/tmp\sess_dc06d9a6f52045b8304bcc66e3f0932d, O_RDWR) failed: m (2) in Unknown on line 0
Warning: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0
I then had a look in my php.ini file and sessions.save_path was set to /tmp.
Please note that I am using Win 98 and Personal Web Server with PHP 4.
Any help to get this to work would be greatly appreciated

You need to edit the php.ini file (usually in the windows directory) and find the section on sessions (near the bottom) and change the session save path to the path of your temp directory usually c:\windows\temp and it should work.
