    table widths in css columns

I have multi-column layout using float on the left column. The left column uses 165px and the right column is free to stretch.
In the right column I have a data table.

How can I tell the table to use a percentage of the relative space available? For example, if the right column takes up 70% of the total screen space, I want the table setting of 100% to use 100% of the *right column* not the *total page width*?

That's exactly how it should work. If you set the table's width to 70%, it should be 70% of the containing element. If this isn't working, can you tell me which browser you're testing against?

    I'm using ie6.0.2
    The page is here:

You can see I've used a table width of 36% to fudge making it fill the centre column. But this is not a very ideal workaround. I would have hoped I could put 100% and it would be the same width as the body text above it.
