    Question .html site integration with .php/phpbb, etc.

    Hi,

    We have phpBB software as our forum and coppermine gallery (written in .php) as our gallery software. Rest of the website is in .html format.

    I would like to have users register/login from any page (mainly from html pages) of the website and still be able to post in Gallery/Forums, etc. Also, they would be loged into the website no matter what page they visit as long as they are on that domain.

    Anyone familiar with this procedure or can help me accomplish this? Help is very appreciated it.

    THANK YOU.

    1. Have you posted this question in the phpBB and coppermine forums?

    2. You may have to work up a hack yourself with a front-end login that then sets the coppermine and phpBB MySQL values and or session variables (or both).

    I have seen a similar question posted on various forums but never an answer.

    I worked out a hack for diarist.com... I have not installed it yet though.

    But you will need to know some PHP.

    Where did you get your VB Skin ?? I like it.. [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

    phpBB integration with a standard site is simple, but I've never played with Coppermine before. To integrate phpBB sessions on any page you like, use this code
    PHP Code:
    define('IN_PHPBB', 1);
    $phpbb_root_path = '/path/to/phpBB/';
    include($phpbb_root_path.'extension.inc');
    include($phpbb_root_path.'common.'.$phpEx);

    $userdata = session_pagestart($user_ip, PAGE_INDEX);
    init_userprefs($userdata);

    if ( $userdata['session_logged_in'] ) {
        // there is a logged in user
    } else {
        // user is not logged in
        ?>
        <form method='post' action='/path/to/phpBB/login.php'>
            <fieldset>
                <input type='hidden' name='redirect' value='<?=$_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME']?>' />
                <input type='text' name='username' /><br />
                <input type='password' name='password' /><br />
                <input type='submit' name='login' value='Login!' />
            </fieldset>
        </form>
        <?php
    }
    ?>

    Thank You marcel and DJ.

    Marcel, I got that VB skin from phpbbhacks.com. It has two versions, I am using files from NEW version but .css file from the old version because newer version is bit too fancy! I installed some mods, edited top banner to meet the site needs/make it blend in with the rest of the site...

    You are right, I need to know some .php thats why im going through the basics slowly!

    So DJ, insert that code on any .html page?

    Thanks again all.

    Yep, any page that will go through the PHP parser. Some hosts only associate .php files with the PHP parser but some will parse HTML files as well, just need to find out what your host does

    I've used phpBBFetch all, its the only reliable solution since you dont have time to learn and understand how phpBB work
