Question Dreamweaver MX Price?

How is everyone doing? I downloaded the 30 day free trial of Dreamweaver MX. I love it! It is so much easier to use than MS Frontpage 2002.

After my 30 day free trial is up I want to buy it as soon as possible. But what shocked me is the price tag of $400.00 for the full software. Can someone tell me if I can get this same software cheaper, much cheaper? I know they have different versions, but the version I need currently costs $400.00.

    Thanks In Advance

If you're a student or teacher, you can get Dreamweaver for about $100 and the whole Studio MX for about $200.

    Hi,

At the risk of being verbose, the old expression "Where there's a will there's a way" has never been more true than on the Internet.

You could try a shopping bot like MySimon, an auction site like EBay, or an "everything conglomerate" like Amazon. Particularly at the first two sites, though, be careful about seedy merchants.

    Edit:

And, of course, you could try Matt's suggestion above.

ohh the costs of software.....at any rate...just from looking around your website i'm going to assume that you aren't a student or educator at a institution of some sort...i'll just assume you're an entrepreneur....w/ that being said you won't be able to get the education discounts....so ebay will be your best bet....you could probably get some sort of OEM version or stripped down version (maybe it will be just the software w/ no box or manual) for like $150

Those are New Zealand dollars, but that's still about $650 USD.

Thanks Rock. My best bet is Ebay. At this time I just don't have $400.00 to spend. Ebay seems to have prices I agree with.

Thank You All For Your Help.

I believe it does not matter how old you are, as long as you are enrolled in an accredited institution you may get the student discount. You do not have to be full time and it does not have to be some big college. You could probably take some classes at a local tech school and still receive the student discount.

I would check first though, I've been known to be wrong

Doh. Now why didn't i think of that?!!

My software costs are over 2,000 (what's that, about US$3,100?), what with StudioMX, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc..

i should have enrolled on a part-time course (you know, 2 hours in one evening a week), then bought educational versions of the software!

yeah....but you'd be breaking the licensing agreement to take any money for the work you did w/ the software as it's for educational use only...not commercial....

Even if you're a student, if you're using the software for commercial purposes (i.e. making money off of sites you create in DW), then you must buy the regular version of the software.

Yep, I bet they all pay up as soon as they make their first buck

Whether it actually happens or not is irrelevant. I'm just going by the legalese in Macromedia's license agreements.

Well, you can probbably guess that most people don't even pay for Dreamweaver, or Flash. Newgrounds.com look how little of them are likely to fork up that much dough! Some of the people using Flash are 8 years old!
