does this rollover preload work for you?

    Hello -

I'm trying to debug the preload script on a site that I'm working on, and now I can't tell if its working properly or not!

Any feedback on the rollovers here: <removed> ???

    thanks!

UPDATE: THIS WAS FIXED, THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE

Yes it seems to preload fine. (using Mozilla Firebird)

The entire page does load rather slowly for me though (cable 1.5Mbps max.)

I cant figure this out. Is it possible that my virus scanner is blocking the preload?

I can see the images loading (in my little network lights) each time a hover over them, even in the same pageload....

I'm definitely seeing lag. At one point, I hovered over the customer service section and although the two corners turned yellow, the centre portion did not change until several seconds later.

I'm using IE6 on W2K with a T1 connection (although that is probably misleading since I access the internet accross our company's WAN which runs at T1 speeds down the backbone but means that I am physicaly located roughly 12,000 miles from the internet gateway).

    That's the one.
What to do? I can't figure it out!

Is it the absolute paths in the rollover script?

Wow - some browsers show the lag, others don't. The strange thing is that the same browser versions show varying (but consistent) results on different machines.

IE6 on my laptop = no lag
IE6 on my desktop = ridiculous lag

Is my theory about virus checkers totally ridiculous? I'm trying to find some difference between platforms that work and those that don't.

Also, any opinions on the absolute path use??

    thanks again!

There are better ways of producing rollovers.
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Every time I hear about a better way to do something with css, I get a call from a client saying it doesnt look right on their browser. Not even an old browser, either.. CSS is great but I'd rather opt for visual accuracy then 'elegance' since my clients don't really care how it's done..

    Still, that is pretty cool!
