btw remember I still need to fix the transparancy... This can be done in some days... MS Image Composer doesn't support transparancy that well (I just find out it does support it , but...). MS Image Composer is really cool for smilies![]()

only problem with dancing dude is that it's 790k

umm, jonese, it is 790 bytes, not even 1k.

Otherwise it wouldn't have downloaded in under a sec on my 56k connection...slow.

Hehehe.

Hey, I have seen that dancing dude guy before. Here is one place: http://www.yabb.org/cgi-bin/support/...isplay&num=450
It is in the sig of the guy who made the second post in that thread.

so unfair to those who put time in making a smiley themself...

Maybe Keith made the one for yabb as well?
Why must we always assume something is stolen?
Adam

Because you might compare the smilies list of his site with that of SitePoint?![]()

Ugh, don't be so cynical. The "Dancing Dude" is basically public domain - I've seen it in several dozen places - signatures, websites for no particular reason, etc.
I think ya'll should stay on topic for this one...
Concerning SP's smilies: I don't think they made any single one of them themselves as of right now...I'm virtually sure that every one of them has been released publicly on the vBulletin.com Forum for use on any copy of vB.

Christophe, do you have a grudge against me or something?
First you say I "copied" your threads, now your saying I "copied" the smileys from here.
Sorry, but I'm not the type to rob, steal or borrow.

TWT, I made mine myself man... I still have the .mic files which are the base files for Microsoft Image Composer. And you are free to search you won't find them anywhere. Not even on eDevBoards.Originally posted by TWTCommish

I'm really annoyed by this. I'm seriously considering redrawing from this contest. I spent 2 hours on those smilies and than you tend not to believe I made them. That's kinda an offense to me you know.
Keith, I've got a question and you have to reply to it honestly. Did you or did you not make that graphic yourself?
CJ, he Keith didn't say he had created the dancing man. He said he just thought it should win an award.
Nearly every smilie out there is public domain and nearly every smilie you will find on most vB powered boards will be the same as they come with vB or have been released by users of vB to the public domain.
Can we try and keep this on track now please? Thank you.

I never said that I was the creator of the dancing guy.
In fact, it was a friend of mine that sent it to me. He has also created other stickmen animations.
I only posted it for a laugh, cause I thought it was a funny gif.
But as far as your quote about my forums having the same smileys as SPFs, I got them from the same place SPF did.
If I remember correctly there was a post on these forums with the URL. I tried finding it but couldn't.

yes off course
BUT THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD IS TO POST YOUR OWN SMILIES YOU ENTER AND NOT THOSE WHO YOU THINK SHOULD WIN.
Just to make it clear...

Uh, it shouldn't be, considering I DIDN'T SAY IT!Originally posted by CJ

That's kinda an offense to me you know.I said SP's smilies - meaning all the ones they use right now. I'm fairly sure all of those were NOT created by SitePoint staff - they're public domain, like most smilies.
I don't see anyone else accusing you of not making your own either - please stop jumping on people. First Keith, now me.
I didn't say you didn't create them, and Keith didn't claim to have made the stickman - so what on earth are you so upset about?

I didn't mean to start warfare.
All I wanted to point out was that I had seen the dancingdude before, nothing person to Keith, if I had seem a smilie I have seen elsewhere I would have said that too.
I am not saying you stole anything either, I was just saying that I had seen it elsewhere and the contest said the smilie had to be original, so I was just making sure it was.
Again, nothing personal to anyone, if it was taken that way, I apologize.

TWT > I must have read your post wrong. I'm in kinda a hurry with exams and stuff so sorry
Keith > I still think it was wrong to post the url you posted as this was a contest for your own smilies.
Wayne > Can you start a new thread with only urls to smilies users made and forbid people to comment eachother smilies? Just a thought...
Sorry if I have offended anyone. I know I'm always the first to be picked on and it always takes time for me to convince people I'm right. But I'll shut up. Because you guys are sometimes so blind you would run into a wall sometimes. (no offense to anyone, just a general thought) and I know this won't make me more popular, but frankly I do not care how popular I am, cause I am who I am. (darn I start sounding like Eminem)
